Rated 2 out of 5 by Marleybell from minimal traction and support I bought these shoes online and then I broke them in before I wore them hiking in Acadia National Park. These shoes caused me to slip a few times while descending on DRY rock. There isn't much grip when you need it most. I can only imagine how they would be on wet terrain. I couldn't trust the shoes after that. Also, these shoes fit me lengthwise but my feet move around a lot and I feel like I don't have much support. I bought these "hiking" shoes for hiking and I am unable to wear them hiking, so because of this, I am giving them a 2 star rating.Thoroughly disappointed!

Rated 2 out of 5 by mrf215 from Okay shoe Liked that this shoe was lightweight and seems well built. It is extremely wide and runs a little large in the length as well. Even with a aheavy pair of socks I was unable to get the laces tight enough so that my foot wasn't swimming around in the shoe. Bummer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LankyLisa from Great shoe! I have narrow feet and a lot of times sneakers are a little too wide for me. The fit on these shoes is pretty good except the toe box may be a little big for a narrow foot. Really well made and I don't find them to be stiff, like other reviewers mentioned. Columbia is great. Got the last pair of 8-1/2 at clearance price. Really good deal for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SKSK from Sizing is off Overall good shoe, feels at least half a size too big. I tried a half size smaller as well and they were too small, so we will see how these do. Great quality though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DebJJ from Great Shoe Very comfortable. I like the extra room in the toe box for a heavier sock. I've been wearing these shoes when I'm doing yard work and they keep my feet dry and have very good traction. They also stay surprisingly clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Alyona from Good hiking shoes I ordered 1/2 size bigger to make sure they are not too tight, but didnt need to actually - would have fit in my usual size pretty good. Fell comfortable and lightweighr on my feet. Only used a few times so far in a dry weather ao not sure how will perform when its wet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BadgerEmily from Waterproof! My husband has waterproof Columbia shoes and is always bragging about how his socks stay dry so when it was time for me to buy a new pair of shoes for walking in the city, I thought I'd give these a try. So far, so good...though they are a little stiffer than I expected and gave me blisters the first day I wore them. I haven't actually been able to try out the waterproof feature yet as it hasn't actually rained on the days I've worn them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Art85 from Excellent Multipurpose Shoe I purchased these shoes a few months ago for light hiking, but I wear them everywhere. They are great for walking the dog in the rain, running errands, and of course, hiking on wet trails. They are truly waterproof, and my feet don't seem to get hot or sweaty inside. They do take awhile to break in, they were very stiff initially. The sole is very supportive, (which is good for hiking), but if I'm standing in them for long periods of time, they have a tendency to make my feet sore.
