Rated 2 out of 5 by Girish from Not water proof as advertised The shoe is not water proof as advertised. Feet and socks get wet even while walking in light showers. Will not recommend for any outdoor activities and not a value for money buy. Could have been a good investment if the shoe was water proof as advertised but sadly money wasted. Rated 4 out of 5 by Govtmule from Redmond Boots This is the 2nd pair I've owned. I've had Rheumatoid Arthritis since '84 but still like to get outdoors so a well fitting and supportive boot is ESSENTIAL. Fit is great and these boots provide the comfort and stability that make it easier for me to enjoy the outdoors.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jon426 from Not Waterproof Feet got wet (toes) just by walking on wet grass. I bought these to keep my feet dry when walking the dog during the rainy season (winter in the PNW). Would have given a much higher rating if they were waterproof as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ukintheusa from Good for everyday wear, not so much on the trail Ok, I got these boots to replace my old columbias that I had for like 5-6 years and put through it. I wear them every day at work. Generally speaking yes, they are waterproof, but, we are talking street, not trail I wore them on a 40 mile hike on the AT and we got downpours. I began walking in some medium deep puddles and could feel the water seeping into my feet. I didn't submerge my foot or anything, but I just think the top of them isn't exactly water prooff. The other downer was I those rocks beat my feet to death with these shoes. I think there is just a difference between a hiking boot and a backpacking boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by David1127 from Columbia quality you can count on Super light shoes that wont tire you on long walks. The shoes are a narrow cut so I would suggest you up 1/2 a size to compensate. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by JoeAnd220 from Poor quality On only my second time wearing these shoes, I hit my toe on a root and it ripped a hole in the front of the shoe. I am very disappointed in the quality. I expect a hiking shoe to withstand the type of wear and tear that generally occurs when hiking in the woods. The shoe was comfortable and had a good amount of ankle support but I am not pleased with the quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Brass from More waterproof than a sandal, barely I purchased these to hike on casual trails and for light off trail walks. For my type of use, waterproofing was needed and is the reason why I choose this shoe. Unfortunately, these just don't deliver. They claim to be waterproof but water barely slows down as it passes through them. They are only just barely better than open toe sandals. My feet were soaked within a few hundred meters of walking through grass covered in morning due. Don't buy if you need any amount of waterproofing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ray69 from Columbia shoes going downhill. Columbia shoes all run very small. I normally wear a 8.5 but need a Columbia 10. A friend gave me his pair, different model, because it was too small for him. Thus, it's not just me. And the shoelaces are too short; I'm going to have to buy another pair of laces. The soles feels thin. I don't think it'll last very long. Although, it feels very grippy. The insoles are very thin; not much cushion. Will have to replace it. The top leather feels well made. Feels like Columbia is trying to cut corners to save a nickel. Got it on sale and with reward dollars; otherwise, I would just return it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Katieray from Good shoe! This hiking shoe looks great and gives good ankle supper without being too high. They fit a little small so it got uncomfortable after a few hours, especially going downhill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sercab from Comfort and style When I initially put on the shoe, it felt very comfortable and supportive. I decided to take them to work and within an hour, I felt I had broken in the shoe. They did feel a bit warm at times but no big deal. This Redmond hiker is very light and great for daily wear and it looks great also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Frodrick from Great for long hikes on rockey terrain I bought these because I was looking for hiking shoe with added cushioning and ankle support over the low cut shoes that I typically wear. I wore them on a nine-mile hike over rocky terrain this past weekend and was extremely happy with them. I have hiked the same trail with low cut shoes in the past and my feet were very tired and a little sore after the hike. Not this time, these shoes performed great! Lots of cushioning in the heal and a very comfortable and snug fit kept my feet and ankles feeling great the entire hike. They had great traction on the rocks and my feet did not move around at all. Would highly recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cocodolo from Comfortable well made hiking shoe It fits comfortably, has the versatility for day hikes/multi day hikes, keeps your feet dry and happy. The black color looks great and matches everything. Would recommend and will be back once these wear out. I’ve hiked two mountains since buying them about a month ago and look forward to countless more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by PAForester from Absurdly small I have worn the Grand Canyon boot for the past couple of years and really enjoyed it. I have worn a size 11 to 11.5 my entire adult life (early 50's now) so I ordered a size 11 in the Redmond style because sadly the Grand Canyon is no longer in stock. The Redmond size 11 was 2 full sizes too small. How is this possible? I also made the mistake of paying for overnight shipping because I was so confident I had made the right decision. Back to shopping at Merrell for me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Crooked8Helmet8Kayaker from Awesome Product This is my 2nd pair of these shoes. My 1st pair has lasted me 2 years. They are great walk about shoes that hold up very very well. I like them being water proof, when walking in tall wet grass my socks and feet don't get wet. I have found that they require more time to air out between wearing because of the water proof feature. They are pretty warm, almost like an un-insulated boot but that is probably a by product of them being water proof. I really like these shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bhatman from Columbia Redmond is True to Form I broke the boot in in just a couple of days. Turns out we had a rain event and it was cold and the shoe just performed! Excellent quality, waterproofing was solid. Sole grip was outstanding. And the fit was very good. Used wool socks and my feet were very comfortable. Not too hot not too cold. Just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HikingCouple2 from SO GLAD I BOUGHT THESE PAIR! I personally have a pair of columbia shoes and i love them (they were gifted) and my bf and i go hiking a lot so he usually uses his street shoes and he always rolls his ankle or slip or something so i decided to look for columbia hiking shoes and the reviews for these shoes were great and I got them and he wears them all of the time (even when we are not hiking) and it's perfect for hiking. My bf hates when the back of the shoes where the back ankle is when the material rubs or slips out so i made sure to get a high top for his ankle and these were perfect for that. He thinks there super comfortable. *** I must say when i saw them for the first time (i order them) they look well built (and they are) but i was expecting them to be like mine where it's more boot like on the bottom (like sturdy) because these are flimsy. like you could bend them. in a sense thats probably why they are comfortable. THATS MY MISTAKE! my bf loves them and i'll most likely buy another pair from Columbia, hopefully the more sturdier kind. but that's ok another reason to spend money here. ha. one last thing, got the shoes wet at the river and he said there waterproof. awesome. love Columbia.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JJRobes from Runs small, narrow, outward heel lean I wish this would have fit me but too small and narrow. Even the wide was slightly too narrow for my foot and i dont usually wear wide shoes. Im on the larger side of normal width. My big toe was rubbing the side, but it could have been cause of the heels outward lean. They were very cushioned and if it fits your foot and duck walk would be great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jitodiaz from Great for work.... I received a pair as a Fathers Day gift and I can't be much happier. As an IT guy I'm using this shoes to work on the field, most of my time stand up or walking and they are very comfortable and lightweight. Well made, good quality and flexible material. They go well with cargo pants and Khakis..yeap Khakis!! I do recommend this shoe and I definitely going to buy the Black/Gypsy ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FeeeDot from big man, narrow feet size 15 shoe, however, I have rather narrow feet. This is my 2nd pair of similar shoes (loved the first one so much that I wore out the treds). First time wearing was much different, as the old ones were molded-over-time to my pencil-like feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by C2CStL from Great mutipurpose all-terrain footwear When I was trying to find a pair of shoes that I could use at work, on the trail, or on city walks that provided the support and cushioning that I needed, I tried other brands but never found the right ones. I discovered these Redmond mid height shoes (Cordovan and Dark Banana) that look great and feel wonderful. I just bought a second pair!

Rated 4 out of 5 by rdhudson72 from Great shoe but...... I bought these shoes about 9 months ago to wear when I do a lot of walking on concrete for my job. The boot is very comfortable. I added an athletic insert (like I do with all of my shoes) for added comfort. Boots have worn very well except that I noticed a slight split along the pinky toe side of the right shoe. I thought I snagged or torn my shoe somehow. Wasn't too happy because it is a really good shoe. Then I noticed the same split on the other shoe. I looked at the split as I walkek and the shoe creased in the same spot where the material had separated on both shoes. Hopefully I can return them and get a very similar shoe but with a non-mesh toe box.
