Men's Redmond™ Waterproof Mid Hiking Boot is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Waterproof Prefect fix (Size 8). Very confortable! It took me a full day of walking in wet grass to go through the waterproofing. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Runs small I wear a men's size 14 in other Columbia hiking boots, but the Redmond didn't fit. I sent it back and bought the Columbia Terrebonne. Hopefully that'll fit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT RECOMMMENDED I have owned Columbia hiking shoes for 4 years. But this pair did not make a year before the sole began to peel off very disappointed

Rated 1 out of 5 by from More waterproof than a sandal, barely I purchased these to hike on casual trails and for light off trail walks. For my type of use, waterproofing was needed and is the reason why I choose this shoe. Unfortunately, these just don't deliver. They claim to be waterproof but water barely slows down as it passes through them. They are only just barely better than open toe sandals. My feet were soaked within a few hundred meters of walking through grass covered in morning due. Don't buy if you need any amount of waterproofing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Columbia shoes going downhill. Columbia shoes all run very small. I normally wear a 8.5 but need a Columbia 10. A friend gave me his pair, different model, because it was too small for him. Thus, it's not just me. And the shoelaces are too short; I'm going to have to buy another pair of laces. The soles feels thin. I don't think it'll last very long. Although, it feels very grippy. The insoles are very thin; not much cushion. Will have to replace it. The top leather feels well made. Feels like Columbia is trying to cut corners to save a nickel. Got it on sale and with reward dollars; otherwise, I would just return it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shoe! This hiking shoe looks great and gives good ankle supper without being too high. They fit a little small so it got uncomfortable after a few hours, especially going downhill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort and style When I initially put on the shoe, it felt very comfortable and supportive. I decided to take them to work and within an hour, I felt I had broken in the shoe. They did feel a bit warm at times but no big deal. This Redmond hiker is very light and great for daily wear and it looks great also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for long hikes on rockey terrain I bought these because I was looking for hiking shoe with added cushioning and ankle support over the low cut shoes that I typically wear. I wore them on a nine-mile hike over rocky terrain this past weekend and was extremely happy with them. I have hiked the same trail with low cut shoes in the past and my feet were very tired and a little sore after the hike. Not this time, these shoes performed great! Lots of cushioning in the heal and a very comfortable and snug fit kept my feet and ankles feeling great the entire hike. They had great traction on the rocks and my feet did not move around at all. Would highly recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable well made hiking shoe It fits comfortably, has the versatility for day hikes/multi day hikes, keeps your feet dry and happy. The black color looks great and matches everything. Would recommend and will be back once these wear out. I’ve hiked two mountains since buying them about a month ago and look forward to countless more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absurdly small I have worn the Grand Canyon boot for the past couple of years and really enjoyed it. I have worn a size 11 to 11.5 my entire adult life (early 50's now) so I ordered a size 11 in the Redmond style because sadly the Grand Canyon is no longer in stock. The Redmond size 11 was 2 full sizes too small. How is this possible? I also made the mistake of paying for overnight shipping because I was so confident I had made the right decision. Back to shopping at Merrell for me!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weak mesh Bought two pairs and the mesh wore out twice on differant sizes, taking back the others two, one low cut and other my other ankle height, buying one with out mesh on toes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe I wear these daily as a plain clothes LE officer. Great shoes, but they do run small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Redmond Mid Hiker--Great Multi-Purpose Shoe This purchase is my 2nd pair of Redmond Mid Hikers--the 1st pair was comfortable & durable. These fit true to size, have good cushioning for both at work on concrete floors & hiking on the trails, are waterproof & very well built. Highly recommend. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Product This is my 2nd pair of these shoes. My 1st pair has lasted me 2 years. They are great walk about shoes that hold up very very well. I like them being water proof, when walking in tall wet grass my socks and feet don't get wet. I have found that they require more time to air out between wearing because of the water proof feature. They are pretty warm, almost like an un-insulated boot but that is probably a by product of them being water proof. I really like these shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Columbia Redmond is True to Form I broke the boot in in just a couple of days. Turns out we had a rain event and it was cold and the shoe just performed! Excellent quality, waterproofing was solid. Sole grip was outstanding. And the fit was very good. Used wool socks and my feet were very comfortable. Not too hot not too cold. Just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of the best I'm still ecstatic about this purchase. Looks and wearability are beyond my expectations. This shoe is the best fitting shoe ever! Fantastic arch support and I can wear this shoe comfortably with regular cotton socks or thicker merino wool socks. Columbia is my go to store for all of our outerwear.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Redmond Hiking Boots I work on pool deck and shoe is not waterproof. After about a day one shoe started making a squeaking noise around the heel. I wouldn't recommend this shoe if your looking to keep feet dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SO GLAD I BOUGHT THESE PAIR! I personally have a pair of columbia shoes and i love them (they were gifted) and my bf and i go hiking a lot so he usually uses his street shoes and he always rolls his ankle or slip or something so i decided to look for columbia hiking shoes and the reviews for these shoes were great and I got them and he wears them all of the time (even when we are not hiking) and it's perfect for hiking. My bf hates when the back of the shoes where the back ankle is when the material rubs or slips out so i made sure to get a high top for his ankle and these were perfect for that. He thinks there super comfortable. *** I must say when i saw them for the first time (i order them) they look well built (and they are) but i was expecting them to be like mine where it's more boot like on the bottom (like sturdy) because these are flimsy. like you could bend them. in a sense thats probably why they are comfortable. THATS MY MISTAKE! my bf loves them and i'll most likely buy another pair from Columbia, hopefully the more sturdier kind. but that's ok another reason to spend money here. ha. one last thing, got the shoes wet at the river and he said there waterproof. awesome. love Columbia.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not waterproof Shoe fits well and is comfortable but not at all waterproof. Hiked in the rain and feet and socks were soaked every time. I will not be buying anything waterproof from Columbia again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs small, narrow, outward heel lean I wish this would have fit me but too small and narrow. Even the wide was slightly too narrow for my foot and i dont usually wear wide shoes. Im on the larger side of normal width. My big toe was rubbing the side, but it could have been cause of the heels outward lean. They were very cushioned and if it fits your foot and duck walk would be great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for work.... I received a pair as a Fathers Day gift and I can't be much happier. As an IT guy I'm using this shoes to work on the field, most of my time stand up or walking and they are very comfortable and lightweight. Well made, good quality and flexible material. They go well with cargo pants and Khakis..yeap Khakis!! I do recommend this shoe and I definitely going to buy the Black/Gypsy ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for casual and hiking A day after buying I used for casual walk totaling 18000 steps, and I was very much satisfied with the overall quality, grip, weight and comfort of the shoe. After that, I have made several small hikes and seems to work great so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from big man, narrow feet size 15 shoe, however, I have rather narrow feet. This is my 2nd pair of similar shoes (loved the first one so much that I wore out the treds). First time wearing was much different, as the old ones were molded-over-time to my pencil-like feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I love these shoes, durable, comfortable, and have good ankle support. The waterproof part is great for those early morning hikes when the dew is on the grass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mutipurpose all-terrain footwear When I was trying to find a pair of shoes that I could use at work, on the trail, or on city walks that provided the support and cushioning that I needed, I tried other brands but never found the right ones. I discovered these Redmond mid height shoes (Cordovan and Dark Banana) that look great and feel wonderful. I just bought a second pair!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All-around light hiker Needed a light weight all-around summer boot. I use as an office or day boot; good fit and comfort.
Date published: 2017-06-07
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoe but...... I bought these shoes about 9 months ago to wear when I do a lot of walking on concrete for my job. The boot is very comfortable. I added an athletic insert (like I do with all of my shoes) for added comfort. Boots have worn very well except that I noticed a slight split along the pinky toe side of the right shoe. I thought I snagged or torn my shoe somehow. Wasn't too happy because it is a really good shoe. Then I noticed the same split on the other shoe. I looked at the split as I walkek and the shoe creased in the same spot where the material had separated on both shoes. Hopefully I can return them and get a very similar shoe but with a non-mesh toe box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Number One Hiking Shoe Purchased this product recently, excellent for hiking/walking/or basically anything. The tread on the shoe is true and you can essentially cross any terrain at ease. Would recommend this product to anyone. You will never slip on mud, ice, etc. and your feet will never get wet due to the shoes superior impermeable layer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent but not waterproof I bought these because they have minimal arch support and are very comfortable. I chose the waterproof model to wear year round but they have leaked since day one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Hikers These are possibly the most comfortable hiking boots I've ever owned. Size is spot on and the feel of these boots is incredible. They are so light in weight they are like not having boots on at all. Add to that they are TOTALLY waterproof, which makes them the perfect hikers. I can't attest to how hot they will be on my feet in warmer weather, but I am very pleased with my purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So Not Impressed! My previous pair of Columbia boots were North Plains(I think) and I couldn't have been more impressed with them. I was expecting a similar experience with this and couldn't have been more disappointed. I've had these boots for around three months and there is now a small but growing hole in the toe boot area. When I buy a pair of hiking boots I expect a heck of a lot more that three lousy months- a boot with a hole in it in winter is kind of useless. Second, I don't know if it's the tread design but the traction is awful. Walking on ice or even really hard-packed snow is a nightmare- I might as well be wearing a pair of wing-tips for all the good these do me. Lastly, who's the genius that decided to join the pack and make the heels slightly rounded? This is a trend I've noticed with other manufacturers and it's impossible to understand what they were thinking. People wear hiking boots to provide a stable platform on rough terrain. Do I really need to say that rounding the edges of the heel has the opposite effect? Overall, a cheaply made, badly engineered excuse for a hiking boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit and function True that it is slightly small, in length, width and volume, which makes it a perfect fit for my foot. I already ordered another pair. Great tread, lightweight and medium flex. Please build more "slightly small" shoes so I don't have to fill excess volume with insoles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best hiking shoes I ever had I purchased it online few months ago, this year (2016). Initially I purchased it and had to return the pair as it was having water seepage issue. Then I returned it and got this one. Initially I was hesitant due to that initial setback. But I liked this new color (Brown) more, which is different than the the color mentioned in the website. I started using it almost daily during my walking and hiking activities. I also use it for normal daily wear, as it's almost equally comfortable as my sneakers and many sports shoes of reputed brands. The shoe is among the best fit shoe for my 10.5 size feet. It's very comfortable even for long duration. The shoe is well designed inside too, wrap the my feet very nicely. All the contours of my feet seem to be well managed inside the shoe. There is no water seepage issue in this pair, so far. The shoelace is also of perfect length and of good quality. It remain tightly fastened, and not become loose or opens up, unlike many other shoes. I would also appreciate Columbia if they keep such shoes in its retail outlets. That would give many customers like me to know the actual color, size and fit before we buy. I would surely recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Redmond hiking boot I find this pair of hiking boots true to size. I find it very useful in this AZ terrain, and like wearing it just about anywhere that I go. The traction of the soles is great. Indeed I would recommend this to friends or family that love the greater outdoors. Thanks Columbia for such an amazing pair of hiking boots. I am satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm happy with them I'm 6'9" about 270 lbs, size 15 feet and have gout. Footwear that fits well and is comfortable to wear for hours is difficult to find, and that's if you don't care what it looks like (I do). Since I bought my first pair of Columbia footwear not very many months ago I've bought at least a half dozen more pairs. These are comfortable to wear for hours when you are on you feet, at least outdoors.
