Reviews

Men’s Voodoo Falls 590 TurboDown™ Jacket is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Jacket This jacket is perfect. It is light weight to wear in any type of weather and temperature. I don’t get hot or cold in mine so I bought this one for my husband. It’s very comfortable and compact to fit in even a small bag to carry when you don’t need it. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Three Bears My title is a homage to Goldielocks and the Three Bears b/c my jacket is just right. I love the fit, feel, and functionality of it. Columbia makes dependable and quality apparel, but at an affordable price, and I thank you. Keep up the quality work. Happy New Year!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Winter in Minnesota -14 below Zero Okay, I have read other reviews so I was afraid to wear it out in -14 below zero weather but, needed to remove some snow from my drive way. I also wanted to really see for myself if the jacket could keep me warm at -14 below with a -34 below wind chill. I put on a pull over sweater on under the 590 TD Columbia. I was really surprised the outside of the coat was cold to the touch but I was not even a little bit cold. It worked great. So, buy the 590 TD and enjoy the -14 below zero cold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket My husband absolutely loves this jacket. It is so warm and very lightweight. Great product. Now I want one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ever jacket! I love this jacket! The omni heat feature on this jacket will keep you really warm. I live in Chicago and the weather here is currently below zero, and I wear this jacket anywhere I go without layering. I own other brands (e.g. North Face), but by far this Columbia jacket is the best and the only one I wear everyday. Awesome jacket! Highly recommended!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly made! I bought this jacket after saving for a couple months and making sure it was what I wanted. Somehow the stuffing comes though the tiny thermal coil pores. Worn 2 or 3 times and sick and tired of having people tell me that I have white furry stuff all over me every time I take off my jacket. Not worth the money!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised. I must admit I had my doubts when I first received this product. I couldn't believe anything this thin could keep me warm in cold weather. I finally was able to test it today. I was out in 26 degree weather with only a T-shirt underneath the jacket and the jacket kept my body and arms warm. My hands and face were numb, but my body and arms stayed warm. The combination of Turbodown and Omniheat works as advertised. I'm 5' 9" and 170 pounds. This size large jacket fits close. Not really tight, but close to the body. I wouldn't be able to get many layers underneath the jacket. Fortunately it doesn't get much colder where I live so this jacket should be fine. Note, it isn't just the body. The sleeves fit close also. I think it is just the design of the jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Jacket Bought this for my son and he loves it. Says it keeps him super warm and it's soft and light. Can't recommend it enough! Fits true to size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and fit. This jacket fits my body true to size. It’s pretty warm for my recent trip to Colorado with just a long sleeve shirt underneath. While hiking in the snow I had to unzip and almost take it off because of the Omni heat. So basically the Omni heat works very well when moving around a good bit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very warm! Love this jacket. I bought a small but it was a little big on me, but maybe Im just a little too small. Otherwise great jacket!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Purchased as a gift Purchased 2 for my husband and son. Very light packable jacket at a reasonable price. Perfect for travel. I tried it on to guage the size and it seemed warm, but they are gifts and have yet to be worn by the recipients outdoors. I would not expect these to be your only winter coat, best as a layer in colder weather.
Date published: 2017-12-14
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as warm as expected. For the price that one pays for this it would be expected to be much warmer. Only has been worn approximately 5 times and never washed and the amount of feathers coming out is unacceptable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Downjacket Product was good but the size is always bigger to Asian people,I select the small size it runs bigger like the middle .i hope have xs size for the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket! Very happy with my New Columbia 590 Turbodown Jacket. Great style and it keeps me warm on chilly Minnesota winter days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Coat! This is exactly what my husband was looking for. A nice looking coat that keeps him warm without being too bulky! Love the gray color too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turbo Down Jacket Extremely light and easy to move around. It runs a little big to size but an excellent value for the money. Great Technology

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great jacket I live in Alaska so I wear this coat for tempertures down to single digits.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect The jacket is very warm for the weight and thickness. Perfect for the fall and spring mornings when camping or backpacking and a layer in the cold winter in California. I also used this as a layer paired with a columbia 1/4 zip and windbreaker on my family's boat in Alaska and it was perfect. The only slight issue with it is that the feathers will come out occasionally through the fabric.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Warm Incredibly light and amazingly warm. Won't weigh you down and won't let in the cold. Best winter coat I've ever owned.
Date published: 2017-11-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm yet light I was so pleased to learn that my new jacket is both warm enough for the cold Winter weather in Denmark and still light and easy to tug away in a bag or a suitcase, when you are on the go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely satisfied with this product I got exactly what I expected when I received this product. It looks great, and the size was perfect. It's been a perfect jacket for the winter cold so far. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat! Keeps you warm at cold winter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Thin, Light, Not Very Warm Mine runs a little big in the chest and snug in other areas. The coat is advertised as the lightest and warmest they've made. I beg to differ. I went out in 28F weather and was freezing. For a down jacket and a thermal lining I expected better. I would say the optimal temperature for this jacket is 35-50F. Don't expect this to keep you warm in freezing or well below freezing temperatures. They made this thing thin and light and with that comes the issue of warmth. I'll take my Carhartt out in true winter weather. The previous jacket I had from Columbia was exceptional. I could be warm in -10F. Not with this one...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Runs large It runs very large from arms. I initiated a return, the return policy is not great either. I bought another columbia jacket from Dick's after trying. That was better fit than this.
Date published: 2017-11-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Coat I purchased this product to be my winter coat. When I tried it on inside at home (68°F) I was immediately warm. I loved everything about the coat except for the color. I was looking for a blue down coat, but this blue looks dirty. It makes the coat look worn out. Instead I purchased the MEN’S TITAN RIDGE™ DOWN JACKET. Brighter. I've noticed that Columbia runs large. I have a 38"–40" chest and usually wear a medium in other brands. In Columbia I need a size small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Teenage son loves it Great winter coat for people that hate to wear coats! Lightweight and comfortable yet still keeps you warm for normal everyday wear. Size is a medium and he is about 5'8" and 130lbs. He can fit a swearshirt underneath the coat comfortably. Overall, a very nice looking coat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good winter jacket. I bought this jacket to be an every day winter jacke when I have to be outside more than an hour. So far, the jacket has lived up to expectations in frigid (teens and low 20's) temps. We'll see how the jacket functions when the temps go to zero and -5 degrees in January (Cleve, OH). Regarding quality...Excellent fit. I'm 6,'2",260 lbs. In my opinion, could use one more interior or exterior pocket (the jacket has 3 pockets, could use a 4th). The jacket is shedding feathers/down material. I don't know if this is normal, maybe someone can inform me as such. Not cool that I have to lightly brush my shirt every time I wear the coat. Otherwise, 5 stars. 4.25 is my rating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful and Skinny The "sweater" really works well. Provides adequate warmth down to low 20's and can fit easily under any kind of shell (I use it sometimes under a Gore-Tex unlined parka). The combination of the down and the reflective surface really works!
Date published: 2016-12-12
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Jacket It's so lightweight yet does a great job of keeping me warm. It's water resistant so when my body heat melts the snow that lands on the jacket, it beads off instead of soaking through. It is also very comfortable and I love wearing it while playing out in the snow with the dogs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Winter Jacket Probably one of the best products I've purchased from Columbia. This Jacket is very warm; and what I like most is the jacket is very light and soft material. Great product!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 590 turbodown jacket Jacket is true to size, warm, only issue I have the down feathers keep coming out, are all over the car seat and jacket, this is my issue with this jacket.
Date published: 2016-11-23
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Runs large Product runs large. Still gets the job done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most practical and warm jacket ever My wife loves her omniheat lined jacket so much I had to buy one for myself. It is the most practical and comfortable jacket I have ever purchased. My son plays hockey so I spend a lot of time at the rink and this jacket easily keeps me warm yet not to the point of perspiring. I tell my family that if Columbia made pajamas like this jacket I would buy them as well! Great fit, very light and easy to care for. Highly recommend owning one of these jackets!
