Rated 5 out of 5 by great Coat VERY light weight. You won't believe it can keep you warm, but it does. Super product. August 3, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works almost too good! Very lightweight, very warm and comfortable. In fact maybe a little too warm for mediocre temperatures. The reflective interior makes my neck sweat and the thin exterior gets snagged easily. Does the job as advertised, but be careful because it's not designed to be rough with. Sub-freezing temps only! Rated 3 out of 5 by Very warm but fragile This is a very nice jacket, it's comfortable, incredibly warm, and beyond light weight. That being said, it is the most fragile jacket I've ever owned. Twice in the first three weeks I owned it I had it tear open in totally average use. Once walking out a front door, it brushed against the frame, and in some way must have snagged, tearing open the shoulder. The second time I was walking down an alley and brushed against the wall, and the sleeve tore open along about 4 inches. This is very disappointing for this price. Like I said, it's very warm and functionional but be careful, it is fragile. February 21, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by warm and comfortable I have gotten stuck in XXL coats by other companies, but this one has enough room for me to actually wear warm clothing underneath, not that I need to. This coat is LIGHT, WARM, and COMFORTABLE. It is impressive in all regards except for one. The zipper is delicate. I have not yet had it fail, for this price it better not. But that was my first concern when taking it out of the box it came in. January 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Coat EVER Love this jacket. Super light, folds into its own pocket. Great looking and functional. It weighs NOTHING and still keeps you warm. Amazing. Get one January 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product has the best color combination. Best coat I ever have. So light and so warm. January 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is it? I bought this over the Internet based on my experience with other Columbia products, including a heavyweight parka that serves me well in severe weather. Based on the specifications and color I ordered it. When it arrived I wondered why the box was so small. When I opened it up the first thing that came to mind is the lightweight of the product. Could it keep me warm? After a few weeks now it certainly does and fits my needs perfectly. It provides me the comfort I wanted to about 30 degrees (or colder if I'm really active). I get lots of positive comments. December 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for Super cold temperatures Great product all around I never had a down jacket before and after some research online I landed here. It was worth every dollar to me this down jacket is crazy warm and ridiculously lightweight. The fact that it reflects your own body heat is what stood out from other down jackets and got me to buy it. I am very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone who ask. I use it when snowboarding to whenever its below freezing or around freezing temperatures. About the sizing I am a size M and it fits fine its just a little wide on the sides is all everything else is dead on, but that makes it perfect for layering underneath Thank you Columbia great job. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product, highly recommend. I am a bass fishing guide on the Susquehanna river and fish year round. Its always been a struggle for me to stay warm and comfortable once the temp drops under 40. Layers upon layers were the answer until I found this jacket. The omi heat truly gives a warm comfortable feel without all the bulky layers. We have a winner! December 10, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Warm for its weight So I did a lot of research before buying this Jacket. We get cold winters in NH and I needed something to keep me warm while being outdoors, usually in windy conditions. I didn't want to spend a lot of money to still be cold. Well I bit the bullet and ordered this Jacket. I really don't know how they got all that Down and other insulation inside that super thin Jacket, but they say they did. I don't think it is warmer than any other Jacket that I have owned, I just think it is warm for the weight and size of it. If you need something super light or have $ to burn then this Jacket could work. I like this jacket, but I don't think I am sold for life on it. December 3, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Could have been much better I loved the way this coat felt, warm and so light. However, the material is so flimsy that if you use it at all it will be torn up in days. I bought this expensive coat about three weeks ago and it already has a tear in it. I did not abuse it and don't even know when it happened. Also love the hood, but it won't stay on your head in a hard wind and once it is off wind will make it lose it shape. This product could have been great but it's not. Disappointed in Columbia. Rated 1 out of 5 by Quality Very disappointed with quality, for the price. Expected much better. Returned coat. I shoot outdoors in 0 temperature, wearing layers. November 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm functionable This jacket with hood is very well suited for the slopes, with the omni heat in the hood, it quickly warms your whole body. Lightweight and packable. November 19, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not worth the money. Very Disappointed Just arrived today and I couldn't wait to open it and try it out as it's a particularly cold day here on the Cape. Let's just say I was more than just a little underwhelmed when I saw it out of the package. There's very little to it. The down is so sparse I thought I'd gotten a defective one that they forgot to put any in when manufacturing it. I brushed my first impression aside though and decided to give it a try. Upon first leaving the house I thought, "Not too bad." But there was a bit of icy wind and within minutes I could feel the cold air through the jacket. I was only wearing a t-shirt and crew-neck sweater underneath so I came back inside and put on a heavy cardigan sweater as an extra layer underneath the jacket. Headed outside again, and it was better, but within about 15 minutes I started getting chilly again, then uncomfortably cold. I guess this jacket must be intended to be worn when engaged in physical activities. It says it's rated for alpine, expedition, and climbing in the description so maybe if your actually engaged in those activities or some kind of winter sport like skiing or snowboarding with your blood pumping and your body emitting more heat than when sedentary, perhaps then it might actually do the job but as a winter garment simply to keep you warm when out in the cold doing your day to day business, this jacket does very little. I'm thinking about returning it because while I think it could be a good jacket on your average cold day with little to no wind, I need something for the harsh New England winters that'll keep me warm even in the extreme cold, to which end I was willing to spend hundreds of dollars based on all of Columbia's hype about turbodown and omni-heat, but this jacket doesn't live up to the hype so I think I can do a lot better for that kind of money if I keep looking. November 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lightweight but very warm I was shocked at how warm this jacket was when I wore it for the first time. The hood with the omni heat is amazing you feel instant warmth. It is also incredibly light weight which is a plus. November 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best lightweight jacket I've ever had This is great for traveling consultants who live on the warm side of town traveling to the cold, winter, breezy side of town. I live in a area where it already hit 0 degree and I can still just wear a white t-shirt, put this jacket on and still feel perfectly warm. :) November 16, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Its okay I just bought this jacket. I bought the black medium. The size is okay, like the other reviewer said, Columbia tends to be a slight bigger. So the jacket itself. IMO not worth a $300+ jacket. It is lightweight and not bulky in any way. I am 5'10, 157lbs athletic but skinny. I wanted this jacket b/c I get cold during the winter. This jacket feels kind of cheap from the exterior and I wonder what will happen if it gets scraped by something. The omni heat looks kinda tacky as far as the hood but I am sure it has its benefits. For 860 down, it doesn't look like it. I don't know, my initial impression was not "wow" but more like a "meh" ╏ ◔ _̀ ◔ ╏ November 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very warm and very light I've worn this jacket a few times now and have nothing but good things to say about it. It is extremely light weight and keeps you surprisingly warm for its weight. It's not bulky at all and it's easy to do everyday tasks in it. Like most Columbia apparel it does run larger than most brands. November 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by New favorite splitboard partner? I picked up this jacket mainly because I wanted something I can count on while splitboarding deep in the backcountry… even if it gets wet (which is an Oregon reality). I’ll give an update once I have a chance to actually test it out but thought I would share some initial impressions. I’m really liking the gray version but it was a close race with the black which also looks very good. The outer shell material feels supple but also very durable. It has good loft but doesn’t look overly puffy. It weights 13oz, same as my other all synthetic puff jacket but I can tell this is far warmer. The only thing I’m skeptical of is there are no wrist cuffs to seal out cold. I’m 6’2”, 195lb with an athletic build, short torso, and stupid long arms. The men’s medium fits perfect, could layer under or over as I would expect. The arms fit nice until I reach for the steering wheel, then they ride up. But that’s everything for me. I did have a misfire with the zipper once already which concerns me a bit. November 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm Jacket for outdoor fun I bought this jacket a couple of weeks ago and I am looking forward to using it this winter. This jacket is WARM but not sweaty. Very light in weight and bulk, great for activities outside in the winter. I am a bigger sized guy I bought the large, it is cut a bit big, but good for layering. I will try to update this review once the weather turns colder in the next couple of months. October 29, 2014
