Meet Columbia's extended family. Having a crew of highly talented outdoor athletes and adventurers like this is kind of like having a fleet of brothers and sisters. They might be a little faster or stronger, but they lead by example. They remind us that it’s not how fast you go or how far, it’s that you go.

George Poveromo

About George Poveromo

George Poveromo, a South Florida native, is a nationally recognized saltwater angling authority. He is the executive producer and Host of George Poveromo's World of Saltwater Fishing on ESPN2, as well as the Salt Water Sportsman National Seminar Series, which is the nation's longest-running (23 years) and most popular educational course on recreational marine angling. Poveromo has also been an editor-at-large for Salt Water Sportsman magazine since 1983, and pens the magazine's No. 1 rated column, Tactics & Tackle.

Poveromo has fished along the entire U.S. coast, as well as in Alaska, Hawaii, Bermuda, Grand Canary Island, Cuba, the Caribbean, and a number of Central and South American destinations. He ranks the Bahamas as his favorite place to fish and can be found here several times a year with his Mako 284 center console, MARC VI, trolling for big game species such as marlin, tuna, wahoo, and dolphin, and also anchoring up on the reefs to catch grouper and snapper.

Poveromo is an ardent believer in using only the very best equipment, which includes his Columbia Blood 'N Guts™ stain releasing long sleeve shirts and shorts with Omni-Shade™ Sun Protection. He's also very proud of the new George Poveromo signature Series Visor, released this past February by Columbia.
