Good product
I had decided it was time to get a rain coat; somehow I've managed all these years w/o one ... It was late April and the local stores were either out of them or I didn't care for the ones they had. I decided to look on line. Columbia is where I decided to look d/t their reputation for quality. This coat is perfect for what I wanted. It's light weight, water proof and good in the wind. I bought a large; I'm 6"2" and it fits perfect, allowing for a hoodie or other lite layer underneath. It came just in time as we were having alot of rain and we had just adopted a rescue dog and needed to walk her . The coat works as described - good product, good price. I wished I hadn't waited too long.

LIGHT AND TOTALLY RAIN PROOF
This is the 2nd Omni-tech material Columbia jacket we bought. This one is for my wife. Best jacket either of us have ever owned for keeping rain off. Oregon weather is rainy but not necessarily cold. You can wear light clothing underneath and feel warm and dry.
Even though both Jackets are for men, it makes no matter to her. Price was great too! under $60.

Exactly what I was looking for!
I purchased this coat for a main purpose of keeping my dry and eliminating the issue of getting hot while walking. I work in Portland and as I am sure many know, it is very hard to predict what the weather will do through out the day. This coat has been exactly what I needed and a bonus feature is that it was designed to fold into a pouch that is within the inner pocket. So now I am able fold it tighly into my back pack (Columbia brand of course) and not worry about it bulging out and making for a more difficult carrying process. I can't say enough about how enjoy that Columbia is trying to meet all of peoples different needs.

I love this Jacket
I bought this jacket on sale and tought of it as fill in water proof jacket leaving my more expensive , hi-tech, marmot, the north face and moutain hardwear jackets at home and for use on the trails or ski trips or more demading use. I bought this just to use around town nothing demandingwell I was completly impressed and have to say the only thing I would like changed would be some pitzips or core ventilation and this would be a perfect jacket. Most of my other jackets are made of some form of ripstop or heavy material to withstand a back pack and scuffing agains rocks and ice. This jacket is no slouch on a resent trip i paired this with the Columbia Ballistic fleece and the Men's Thermarator Fleece so I would have a good variety for changing conditions I used the witertight jacket as an airline pillow (very nice feature) I traveld from chicago in 39 degree weather so i wore my ballistic fleece when I arrived in New Mexico the weather was heavy rain mixed with snow and I used the watertight jacket as my outershell and it helds up and didn't get saturated or heavy with WETOUT I have had that happen to my more expensive jacket and it just makes them heavy and clamy. I took a side trip to a local canyon and did some conyaneering and this jacket held up very well. If your looking for a very light weight WATER PROOF jacket look no furter than this jacket. Its very roomy I have used a 900 fill puffy under it a 7oo fill and 550 fill vest, numerous fleeces and and hoodies. I have wore this with suit and tie around town and spent a rainy day in new Mexico cayons and it held up nicely. Columbia please add core vents like on the Ballistic fleece or pit-zips to this jacket and it would be unbeatable.

watertight jacket
This water tight jacket was the perfect jacket for my 15 year old son. He needed something that he could go out in to walk the dog in rainy weather or windy and even hot weather and be protected. It is perfect. It is also the perfect material because dog hair does not stick to it like it does our other rain jackets.

Wonderful jacket
Better than my winter goretex coat. I got this jacket for myself and the kids version for my son. Out all day in the pouring rain doing boy scout things and we were dry and comfortable, everyone else wet. With a lightweight fleece underneath and wicking synthetic tshirt, very effective cold wet set (40-50 degrees, inches and inches of rain).
Added barrel locks to the drawstring cord on hem and hood to make cinching easier, but well worth the money.

Rainy DC Trip.
I took 400 of my favorite students to DC for their Senior Trip. The weather turned to turrential rain and fun was had by all. The jacket was amazing and truely watertight. It dried quickly when indoors and held up to the driving rain when outdoors. The price was right and the fit perfect for sweater or sweatshirt underneath. I recommend this jacket for all weather conditions.

Watertight Jacket
I recieved my jacket very promptly after I ordered it and in excellent condition thanks to the fine folks at Columbia who take pride in their products.
I read many reviews prior to ordering and chose the size based upon the reviews. When it arrived, I found it fit perfectly. The size may run a bit larger than most but that's a good thing should you chose to wear a top-quality Columbia fleece underneath in cooler weather, as I do. This tis a top quality, watertight jacket that fits and breathes well. What more could you ask.

This product is the best rain shell on the market.
The next after I received the jacket it was wind blown rain and not only did it keep me dry it kept me from sweating on the inside.

Great features and light weight
This jacket is just what I was looking for as a light weight rain jacket to keep on my motorcycle. It has nice features and fits very well. I bought the matching pants as well.

Great Looking Jacket ! It does what its supose to, love it !
Great quality rain jacket, light, breathable and the best quality money can buy. Colombia Rocks !
April 14, 2012
Nice rain shell with a nice look
I ordered this as a raincoat to keep handy for when needed. I really liked the variety of colors offered and the styling. I chose a more subtle color combination that suited my tastes. I think it's a good idea to have more muted colors available (besides basic black) for those who don't like wandering around looking like a neon sign. There is plenty of room for putting it over a fleece jacket or other warmth layer. I haven't had occasion to wear it in the field yet, so can't comment on functionalilty.

next up...swimming
I bought this jacket to compliment a fleece liner I had.
I wanted a jacket that was completely waterproof. This jacket fits that description perfectly.
I have stood outside in the pouring rain, heavy snow and wind, and stayed completely dry.
Paired with a fleece liner doubles as a winter jacket when I don't need the bugaboo.
Next up this summer,I may try it while swimming*chuckles*

Rugged, lightweight and looks good.
I purchased the same jacket about five years ago. It has taken me through snow, sleet, downpours and has kept me warm & dry. Hopefully my new jacket will do the same.

Lightweight, heavy performance
I got this coat just last week and already feel confident enough to write a review about it. Good thing I got it, because my camping trip this weekend turned out to be quite rainy.
Function: Hiked 3 hours over varying terrain in light to moderate rain - stayed dry, didn't overheat. Blocks wind nicely. If that isn't the function of a rain jacket I don't know what is. It is a bit lightweight so I got a bit nervous while bushwhacking but it held up fine (don't think I'll push it through TOO thick of thorns, though).
Size: Much has been said on this issue. I'm 6'0, 165 and wear a 38 long sport coat and the SMALL is the perfect size for me as an athletic fit. I wore a t-shirt and a knit shirt underneath but do not think there would be room for much else. If you want to put a sweatshirt, fleece, or multiple other layers under it for use in colder weather I would get you actual size. If you want a more form-fitting jacket, I would order one size down.
Features: 1) It folds into its own pocket - great for transport. 2) Adjustable cuffs, adjustable left and right waistband make for seemingly tailored fit. 3) Adjustable hood, holds in place well, makes nice form-fitting cap with brim extended over top. 4) Front pockets are a bit small, but fit a gps, compass, hands, etc.
Overall this coat scores perfectly by my standards. Another Columbia product with which I am well-pleased!
March 25, 2012
GREAT PRODUCT
First time I wore this was in a rain storm, for an hour and a half and was dry as could be. Nice jacket. Enough room to wear a fleece under it and I did.
March 17, 2012
Good Rain Jacket
In the Southern Appalachians we often have microbursts and intense downpours with heavy winds. I have been pleasantly surprised that something so light could keep me so dry. The jacket's lightweight construction would not be the best choice for bushwhacking, but it is very comfortable around town or hiking the trails. Very breathable.
March 9, 2012
Good with reservations
This jacket seems to be all I want it to be. The reservations that I have stem from the first coat that I bought from Columbia just about 4 months ago. It was a heavier winter Bugaboo parka. I've noticed that several of the seams are already splitting on it. That's a disappointment to say the least since I paid $240 for it. If the Watertight Jacket splits as quickly, it will be the last Columbia coat I ever buy.

Watertight Review
Jacket is great and does protect against the rain very well. I prefer a slightly shorter jacket as this goes down around the butt a bit too much. I am 5'11, the jacket is a small, and I wish it were about 2" - 3" shorter. For sizing though, you need to know it runs slightly large too. I am 185lbs well built, normally wear a medium, and the medium jacket was too big. Packs well and can be smashed tighter for small packs.

Light, Breathable Waterproof Jacket
This is the first lightweight waterproof jacket I've owned that doesn't stick to my skin in damp weather or make me sweat when it's warm out. Perfect for use in wet conditions and nice enough looking to wear into town. It would be nicer if the hood could be tucked away, but its just fine as is.

coat
it keeps me dry from the rain that we had today it a awesome coat to wear
February 22, 2012
Nice looking and it does it's job!
This jacket is a replacement for an older Columbia(7 years old) rain jacket which has just worn out.
We purchased the jacket for my wife because she prefered the style, cut and colors of the mens style as opposed to the womens.
As I said in my title, the jacket looks good and keeps you dry

Very nice jacket, keeps rain completely out. Also, it keeps me very warm! Overall great rain jacket.

I got a size to big. I don't like the way it fits, unless I where several hoodies under it then it works fine. I previously had a similiar jacket that must have been a large instead of an XL

Gift for a Walker in Oregon!
I bought this rain coat for my husband for Christmas and he loves to walk - rain or shine! It was a perfect fit - it came right on time and he really likes it. There were other choices we could have made, but Columbia never fails to win on quality.

Perfect for rainy weather!
I work outside at a container ship terminal 12 hours a day, and bought this jacket to replace a similar breathable waterproof jacket I had used for three years. After using this jacket for four months every day I am extemely satisfied with it and have just bought a second one to have when the current one will one day wear out. This jacket is not only waterproof, but keeps the wind out, too. It has ample arm room for complete mobility, and the inside breast pocket is quite large. Side pockets have zippers but they could be deeper. Overall, I give this product 5 stars!

nice and dry
I love this jacket! I've used it to keep dry in the Philippines and warm in Alaska. I had an unexpectedly long layover in Alaska in November, on my way to the Philippines and this jacket and a pair of jeans were the warmest clothes I had. While I wasn't as warm as I wished I could be This jacket kept out the driving wind and snow and kept me warm enough to walk to from my hotel to the restaurants and back with out freezing to death. If I had a few more layers to put underneath it I would have been set.
Once I rived in the Philippines the jacket kept me nice and dry during some pretty heavy rain storms and was lightweight enough that that I wasn't too hot in the 80+ degree weather. The fact that it folds into its own crying pouch with an attaching loop makes it easy and convenient to carry. Its a great product and I am glad that I bought it.
The only feature that I wish it had is pit zips for just a little extra ventilation.

Columbia Watertight
Performs as a Columbia product is expected to. I purchased this jacket to serve as a rain jacket and it does its job perfectly. Water rolls off like it's on a duck's back.
December 29, 2011
Great Jacket!
This jacket was exactly what I had been looking for. Water resistant yet breathable. Would definitely recommend.
December 21, 2011
Good but can't roll up the hood.
Nice rain jacket but you can't roll up the hood into the collar to keep it out of your way when you don't need it.

Keep Dry
Purchased these for my recent trip to Costa Rica. I wanted a rain jacket that would keep me dry and be packable. We had heavy rain for 8 days straight, and this jacket performed perfectly. It also has a liner, so when you are wearing it with short sleeves it feels just fine. The adjustible hood also works well to allow you to define the amount of coverage you need. It has an internal stuff pocket that allows you to pack it down for backpacking, or day trips. It also doubles as a small pillow for multi day treks!
This jacket is so versitile I will probably use it as a lightweight shell on those bluebird powerder days!

Jacket
Bought this online for my Son-in-law and shipped to him. Perfect fit! He loves it! Thanks Columbia!!

Fantastic!
I love this jacket! I walk home everyday from school and I've been caught in some good downpours. I keep super dry in this thing and its great at breaking wind! (Ya, I just said that)
I love the adjustable storm hood. Took me a good week to figure out how to tighten it, but once I figured it out it was great at keeping wind away because it fits nice and snug on your face. Plus as it tightens the hood produces a nifty "hat bill" to keep the rain out of your face.
I also worked out in this thing before and it's SUPER breathable! I never have to take the jacket off during physical activity!
I took off a star because its not good at keeping you warm. Its great when the wind is blowing and the rain is coming down hard, but if you're just standing there on a cold day it doesn't keep you warm at all. Maybe that is just me, I have no "natural insulation." :D
Overall good coat. A

Fantastic jacket
My husband and I purchased this rain gear for a trip to Alaska, hoping we wouldn't need it. Unfortunately, it rained EVERY day of our trip. This rain gear worked perfectly and I would recommend it to anyone requiring a jacket to keep them dry in the most wet conditions.

Light and cool
A great product for layering. When I'm getting warm I slip my fleece vest off and and then layer back up when I cool down. The adjustable wrist band is perfect. The zipper has come undone a couple of times if I don't get it set just right.

Lives up to its name!
Firstly, this jacket lives up to its name.
It has a really cool look, feel--stands out! The material is so flexible that you can fold it and put it away in your backpack just-in-case the weather turns rainy.
In the picture you will see that it is raining [mild to medium] snow, the jacket is totally wet, but the Omni-Tech works great as it kept me perfectly dry inside! However, I am was wearing three layers inside for warmth and this jacket is perfect over that!
However, be aware that the fit is a little loose.
Surely, a high quality product from Columbia!

Does what it's designed to do, and does it well
It's a rain coat with technical features.
Substantially sized to go over undergarments.
You can spend more. But like most Columbia items, you'll be hard pressed to find a better designed and performing outerwear garment for the price.

Awesome Jacket
I like this jacket a lot. I just took it out backpacking last weekend. It worked great. While I was up on the mountain it was hailing, raining, and extremely windy, and the jacket did great. It does run a little larger than I was expecting. I'm usually between a medium and a large. I decided to go with the medium and I'm glad I did. It has plenty of room. Great for layering.

works as it should, good quality, nice jacket

Superb Jacket!
The Jacket has a great feel, look and style to it. I bought the Metal, Burnt Orange and the color is superb. The interior also is really good--will keep you warm.
However, this jacket runs a little long and the hands on me look a little big [i am 5ft 5inch and thin built]. If the cold is intense, you will need to wear something inside and the jacket is built in a way that will allow you to wear 3 layers inside.
Overall, great buy! and cool look!

Worst rain gear ever
I love columbia products and have many jackets. I traveled to Panama last week and this jacket was a total let down. I traded it in for trash bags. The jacket performs great in light rain just do not rely on it to keep you dry in a heavy rain. It absorbed water very quickly.

light and comfortable
great for boating in the cool mornings. light and comfortable. breaks the coastal breezes/wind well.

Great jacket!
This jacket is great. I use it for hiking as well as daily use. It rains a bunch where I live and umbrellas are just a complicated matter. This jacket is way more convenient than using an umbrella.
It sticks to its name as water remains out and you remain perfectly dry.
I have used it in both hot weather when raining (80F-100F) as well as colder temperatures (35F-55F) and it has performed well on both situations.
Packable feature is always great.
I would recomend to try it on. I am a tall husky guy, 46 jacket size and the large has plenty of room. I actually have worn a jacket inside of this jacket in cold weather and it didn't even feel tight. I tried the medium in the store, which fitted well, but I knew there would be times I would need the extra space for layering. This size situation is common in Columbia items, in no other brand do I fit in a medium size shirt (PFG shirts).

Finally! Clothing made for bigger guys
I got this jacket because I spend alot of time outside. It has held up very nicely for the month that I have had it. I'm a big guy and have alot of trouble finding clothes that actually fit nicely. I take a XXL shirt, and most of the time northface, marmot, Patagonia, and mountainhardware seem to run very small for XXL. This jacket is great! I got the 2X expecting it to be snug, but I have enough room to put a couple sweatshirts under it!! It's very lightweight and has a packable pocket built right into it. I brought it on a 5 day camping trip to mother. Maine, which rained most of the trip, and it was a life saver. The hood is also very roomy too. The icing on the cake has to be that it comes in a whole slew of colors. I got the bright orange one and I get alot of comments on it!! Well worth the money.

Nice jacket
I purchased this item for my husband for a cruise we're taking to Alaska. He cannot wait to check it out in the rain on the cruise. Hopefully he'll not need to use it.
June 14, 2011
Just what I expected
Need good looking well made rain gear, this is the one for you.
May 26, 2011
Comfort, function, and appearance, at a good price
Like other jackets from Columbia this is designed just right: with an inner liner, a voluminous hood, nice pockets, and excellent rain protection. I am particularly happy with the easy to use zipper.
The material is a bit thin and in-substantial, so I will probably need to replace the jacket in a couple of years. My other wish-list item is that the jacket should reach to mid-thigh, rather than stopping at the top of the thighs. But at this price (~$80 including shipping) it is certainly worth it.

Good product for layering
Makes a good water repellant outer layer for the winter, And works well alone in the warmer months.
