Not worth $100 OK, so I'm short (5'5") with a 32" waist. The smallest size was too long; could use some elastic on the bottoms of the pant legs; no left rear pocket...?!; no separate inside pocket on front right for smart phone. Returning them, sorry--not worth $100. October 26, 2012
Backcountry Convertible pants In the summer of 2011, I wore these pants every day for 6 weeks while canoe tripping in northern Ontario. They were great - tough enough yet comfortable enough to wear every day, all day. Great product! October 20, 2012
Versatile, comfortable, well designed These pants are perfect for warm weather and ALL NORMAL ACTIVITIES. Especially valuable for travel. The lightweight fabric stands up well. I've not used them in bushwhacking or off trail activity. The side pockets really make carrying a cell phone or wallet comfortable and secure. I bought this pair to be sure that I had two at all times! August 9, 2012

It's great! Ok, I'm biased. When purchasing outdoor gear, I only think of Columbia gear. I already have several Columbia items so ordering a replacement pair of hiking pants wasn't difficult. I was especially happy to see that the leg length was good for me (normally I need to have pants altered in the leg length). But the material was a real improvement (not that the previous pants weren't ok but I didn't realize how much improvement had been made until I tried these on). The fabric is light and dries very quickly. The pocket arrangement and size is very important for mountain hiking and these are very practical. And the color is neutral so they can be dressed up or down. In a word, they are marvelous. Well, worth spending a little more. July 27, 2012
Nice pants! Love the quality! But there is one thing that is missing and is needed badly. A right handed knife pocket that has a different material so the clip on the knife handle doesn't eat this light weight material. It's hard fishing without the ability to hold onto simple tools in a location that's handy. When this is incorporated into newer Columbia convertible pants, yes I would accept a free pair for my wonderful idea! HA!The bug guard works great! I don't understand it but it does work!! It's nice not having to wear so much bug juice!Great pants and shorts.. I like the smaller inseam on the shorts. It means I can wade in a little deeper..Keep up the great work grandma!P.S. size runs a little large.. But this makes them comfy.. If I were to order again I would order a medium so that I could wear these while going out without sag butt. May 26, 2012
Backcountry Pants Quality and my go to pants from now on. Great material and form/style. The size is a bit on the long side, which unfortunately can't be hemmed due to the zipper in the bottom of the pants. That said, I'll wear them a little long any day! April 21, 2012
