Men’s Talus Ridge™ Mid Leather OutDry Shoe 4.1 5 7 7
Why I like these boots Bought the boots in expectation of all of the scout hiking trips. Even though all of the reviews said they did not need any breaking in I thought I would wear them around a couple of days just to see how they did before going hiking. I wear a size 9 tennis shoe and this were dead on and very light weight. I work at a stand up desk and liked having the boots on. I wear them every day now. I have walked through water about 2 inches from the top of the boot. My feet stayed dry. I have hiked in these and jogged a course through trails and over hills with the scouts. Great support for the ankle and foot. I would buy these again. February 22, 2013
Poor Design in Lacing When I first purchased these boots I was amazed how light weight they were. When I put them on they we so very comfortable. I wore them about 20 times over the course of 3 months and found them very comfortable on medium to long hikes. They have good traction on most terrain and I never had a problem with wet feet. The problem came the other day when I was tightening the laces. There is one eyelet that laces pass through that is only a small piece of leather. Notice the third eyelet from the top. When I pulled on the lace to tighten the leather ripped from the hole to the edge of the small leather piece. This made it very difficult to get a good fit. I took it to a cobbler to get his opinion on fixing it and he agreed it was a poor design and would replace that piece of leather with a D-ring. He also noted another possible short coming. Rather than having them fixed I returned them under warranty to the original dealer. November 27, 2012
Outstanding shoe!!! I bought a pair of Talus Ridge mids after my Master of Faster mids developed a leak. The TRs are very rugged, comfortable and extremely water-proof. I've walked hundreds of yards through wet knee-deep alfalfa and my feet stayed completely dry. The outside of the shoes have stayed relatively new looking even though I've spent many days walking across lava rocks and sharp obsidian.I'll be buying another pair just to have them. Love the boot; VERY Disappointed with the quality. This is my second pair of shoes that I’ve ordered from Columbia and I love the fit, comfort and functionality of the Talus Ridge, but these boots are not true to the quality I’ve come to expect when ordering a Columbia product. I’ve been wearing them daily for about 1 ½ months and the sole is starting to separate on the heel of the left boot; maybe it is just a defect with the glue, but it’s still a disappointment. I have many Columbia products to include jackets, hats and gloves, hopefully this is just a fluke and not indicative of the future quality of Columbia’s products. I’m not completely turned off on the company, but felt I needed to share my experience with this particular product. I'll try to upload a photo later for reference. August 15, 2012
Great on the mountain Wore the new boots on a 5 day 25 mile climb of a Colorado fourteener with a full pack. Great ankle support of rough and loose rocks and terrain. Boots were waterproof when needed, and quick to dry when I had to wade thru a knee deep and very wide high mountain stream. Great foot support, and no blisters. Can't wait to wear them again for a similar experience. July 7, 2012
Shoes I bought these shoes for my hunting trips and they are awsome and light weight and they fit perfect and are serving their purpose.I am happy with my decision. June 8, 2012
Great Boots These are just about the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn- certainly boots, and possibly all shoes. I picked up a pair for my buddy, and was raving about them until he finally put them on. He thought I'd been kidding, but then fell in love with them, too. They are some pretty sweet boots, great support, great cushioning, and they look awesome. Buy a pair. April 29, 2012
