Stylish jacket
I really like this jacket--flattering and warm! The brown color is really nice--so many of these types of coats are in black so it's nice to get choice in color!
True to size but don't plan on wearing anything real bulky underneath.

Great winter jacket!
I absolutely love this jacket! I was going to order an XS (I'm 5'3, 110 lbs) because I really like winter jackets that fit snugly so I don't look like one big blob! But the reviews said it was tight and to order the next size up. Well when I got the Small, it was a bit baggy! So I exchanged for an XS and it fits perfectly! Really warm, good sized pockets, removable hood (and hood fur), and overall excellent jacket. Only downside is when the occasional feather pops out, but besides that, no other problems! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a warm, yet fashionable winter jacket!

Not true to size
I love this coat but it was too small across the shoulders. I am not very broad and could hardly move.

Great coat for Everyday and Professional Use
I live in a city where the winters can be rather unpredictable with snow and wind and needed a coat that could be used whether I am out with friends on the weekend or going into work during the week. Problem solved. This coat is classy enough for work and warm and casual enough for the weekends.
I debated on whether or not to order a small or a medium based on the reviews I read and am happy that I ordered a small. I am 5'6" 125 pounds and (not to get too personal) wear a large C cup bra. I was afraid the coat would be too snug with sweaters on underneath or pull too much in the middle, but that is not a problem at all. The coat is form fitting but not overly snug.
I also love the pockets. The larger front flap ones are great for carrying keys, phone, etc.. and I use the ones that are side slits right underneath for my gloves. There is also a pocket on the inside as well.
The snug fit around the wrists keeps my arms fully covered, which is awesome.
The only suggestion I would have for improving this coat would be to have the hood zip off rather than button on. Air can sneak in the little spaces between the buttons from time to time, but hasn't bothered me much up to this point.
Overall, for what I paid I couldn't be happier with this coat.

I recomend!
I purchased a different down coat before this one and returned it because one of the zippers broke, it was really puffy, and the sleeves were too short. You will not have any of those problems with this coat. It is lightweight, good quality and it fits me very well. I am 5'10" 150 lbs. and athletically built and I bought a large because other reviews said to go a size up and I did. The sleeves are long and you can adjust the waist so it hugs you tighter. Also I really like that the fur on the hood zips off and you can take the whole hood off if you would like as well. The only problem I have is some of the feathers come out but its not too bad or a big concern of mine. Enjoy!

Great Jacket at a great price
I love this jacket! I took the recommendations of previous reviews and bought the jacket a size bigger than what I thought I would need (I got a medium and I'm 5'2 134lbs). I probably can't wear huge layers underneath but it's honestly not needed because this jacket is so warm. It looks nice, feels great and keeps me warm in Chicago winter weather. If you are top heavy definitely get a bigger size because it is a snug fit. For the price, this jacket is a great deal.

Down Coat
Poor quality and fit. Not worth the $. And the pockets on the coat have a poor design. Returned it immediately.

Perfect for the price
You can't go wrong with this coat. Flattering cut and warm, without looking puffy or dowdy. I do wish the hood attached with a zipper instead of snaps, but otherwise, for the price, this coat is perfect. I am 5'7", 135 lbs., athletically built and I found the Medium perfect. I especially love the zippered pockets (keeps my cell phone safe while I'm out walking the dogs), the snug sleeves (feels warm and sleeves don't slide) and the length of the coat is perfect.

Great longer coat
This is my third Columbia coat in my lifetime. I bought this because I knew that it would last for years, it's long, and extremely warm. The fit is a close cut, but that make the coat look a bit more feminine. The sleeves are the best because inside there's a stretchy materials so that there isn't a gap for cold air to seep through. I bought a shorter Columbia coat on sale last year and I love it--it's light-weight though so when the temps dip below 30 I'll pull this out. I'm a big fan of Columbia coats!

GREAT coat!
Pros: Nice, nice fit. Light and not bulky, with a slimmer, flattering, classic design. I'm 5'2", 110 lbs and the small fits great. Blocks out wind and cold well but not too warm to keep on when going inside a store. Comfort cuffs and deep pockets (including inside security pocket) are nice features.
Cons: (Not enough to minus a star) Tags say that Comfort Cuffs have thumb openings but mine doesn't. The hood's snap buttons sometimes come apart too easily and I have to re-secure them. Since it is a down coat, feathers sneak out. There has to be a way to keep those feathers inside your coats, Columbia. Maybe next time.
Overall very happy with purchase and recommend it.

Down Home Diva helps me get home!
So, I bought this jacket, as I recently moved to Chicago from Arizona. Needless to say, it was a bit shocking to my system.
This jacket has done it's job! First off, the design is the best design I have seen on these types of jackets. Extremely cute and fitting. However, if you have broad shoulders, get a size bigger - the area in the shoulders is snug.
So far, the jacket has been warm. I don't think that it's the warmest jacket that I have encountered. My friend has a jacket from TJ Maxx that cost 60-70 bucks that is actually warmer.
Overall, I love my jacket! It keeps me warm and feeling cute while doing so! :)

great material, poor fit
I ordered from Columbia because my grown children love the products, and wear them often, they recomended I spend the money and get a quality product. Actually the material was very nice, lightweight feel, seemed warm, and construction of the garment was good as well. But the fit was horrible! Couldn't believe how ill fitting it was. I used the size chart and measured myself, prior to ordering. The coat was so small in the top, the arm holes were stuck right in my arm pits! The sleeves hung over my fingertips. Couldn't move my shoulders. Then the bottom flared out like a big bell! Looked ridiculous. It was like, during the manufacturing process, the tops and bottoms of the patterns were switched.

Super cute, super warm
I love this jacket! I bought it primarily for my vacation to Park City, Utah, but also to weather the conditions of Philadelphia. It fits so nicely, and keeps my body's shape. It is so warm that I feel like I have my own personal heater inside. I tend to feel cold a lot, so this jacket is perfect! There are some down feathers coming out, but that doesn't even matter to me, because I found a warm, durable coat.

Good coat for the price
I've been looking for a 3/4 length down coat for awhile now and my husband bought this coat for me for Christmas this year. I really like the cut of the coat and the fact that you can clinch in the waist with the toggles on the insdie of the coat, which makes it a more flattering fit. The length is perfect and keeps the chill off my thighs. The coat is vey warm. I normally wear a sweater under it as well and it doesn't feel too bulky. I am 5'7 and weigh 125 lbs and bought a medium. I could have gone with a small but I like having a little extra room for sweaters. My only gripe with this coat is I wish the hood was either ziped on or fully attached. I find that the snaps holding the hood sometimes un-snap. It is also held on by velcro so it never completely comes loose. I also wish I could clinch the hood around my face. I don't really see the point of having a hood if you can't tighten it around your face. When I put the hood on, it often falls back from the wind. All in all though, it's a really nice coat and I'm sure i"ll be wearing it for a long time.

I do not recommend buying a size up!
I ordered a Small instead of an Xsmall because of all the reviews on here saying that people had to order a size up. My jacket was too big! I will be returning this and exchanging for a smaller size. I didn't really get to test out the jacket, but it seemed nice and warm.

I love my coat
I was considering a North Face winter coat. When I compared the Down Home Diva coat to it I decided to go with the Columbia coat. I am very pleased with it and the cost is half of what the NF coat was. I went to 3 outside hockey games over the weekend and when everyone else was freezing I was very warm and comfortable! I would strongly recommend this jacket!!

I'm Happy With This Coat
I wanted a down coat that wasn't too bulky and didn't make me look like a marshmallow -- this coat is pretty slenderizing and I really enjoy the color. One minor hiccup is the amount of feathers that come out. I recenly got the coat so I'm hoping the feathers will eventually stop shedding. Otherwise, it's great.

Buy this jacket!
I bought this for my fiance as she wanted a longer jacket to keep her warm in the winter. She showed me many other brands and styles, but because of the reviews of this jacket by others, I got her this one.
She LOVES it. She said it is like wearing a warm glove over your body. It is very warm (in MN) and it blocks the wind very well!
Her friends have jackets of other brands, but hers is more contoured and fits her body very nicely whereas her friends' jackets look very poofy and unshaped.
At $300, this coat is a great buy. At $170, it's a steal. You will not be disappointed!

She really likes it.
bought this for my college daughter. At first she thought it wasn't puffy enough to be warm, but has found that it is very warm without the bulk. Has not needed to but thought in sub-zero temps she could put her (other brand) fleece underneath and not feel like the Michelin girl. Has a shirt-tail hemline which is chic and different. Hood only snaps on so she wasn't sure it would be secure but has been fine, but a zipper would be better. Faux fur trim does zipper off, however. Generous pockets. I thought it ran a touch small so I would say size up. My daughter is 5'8 so just knee length on someone her size. Very happy we made this choice, great value for the $$.

Great hood!
The sizing of the jacket is odd. The medium fits snug, especially under the arms and wrists. The large is quite roomy through the body, but fits like a medium through the shoulders. Very warm!

Diva Coat
I ordered this as a medium coat for a person that normally wears a small after reading other reviews. The medium was too small. After $15.00 in shipping(to return the coat) I received a large coat which was still questionable in size.
The coat is made with excellent quality and function. The length is perfect. It is plenty warm and it has replaced several other coats that were either not warm enough or were not rain resistent. I would recommend this coat but wish that the size would be more realistic. How could I guess that someone that wears a small would need a large in this coat?
January 12, 2012
Perfect for winter in Portland
Coat easily goes from the city to the mountains, from temps in the teens to temps in the 40s, from rain to snow to sun. Looks great with jeans or even dressier clothes. Blocks the rain nicely and keeps you warm.

super good!!!!!!!!!
I moved from Texas to Idaho this year, and was very nervous about the weather, because I had never lived in snow before. A good friend recommended the brand so I went ahead and decided to buy it. When I first tried on my jacket I was worried because it felt so thin. But so far it has been EXCELLENT in keeping me warm out in this horrid weather. It's even better because it's longer then most jackets and the sleeves are designed really well. Worth every penny!!!!

Beautiful jacket
This jacket is beautifully shaped and cut, and fits perfectly- very flattering, feminine, yet very functional. It shapes beautifully around the waist even without using the inner string. The materials are soft and nice. I love how the bottom is shaped, too. Too perfect to be true especially for a jacket of this price. This jacket can be for casual outdoor use, but can also be for semi-formal use - take off the hood and add a nice scarf! I highly recommend this jacket!
I am 5'2", 100lbs, and size XS fits perfectly.

Great Jacket
Just received this jacket and love it! I live in a mountain town in Colorado so the temperature is very cold and this jacket keeps me warm and toasty. I am 5' 9" and I purchased a M this jacket is plenty long it hits me about an inch above the knee. One thing to keep in mind is that it is a little snug through the shoulders so if you are planning to put bulkier sweaters under it you might want to go a size up from what you usually purchase.

Great coat
I ordered an XL in this coat and it's a little snug. I recommend buying a size up.
It's warm enough to wear without a sweater. Today it's 30 degrees. I have on a thin cotton shirt and I was warm.

Great light weight Jacket!
This Jacket is my first real cold-weather item I've bought since moving to New York from Australia. It has been unseasonably warm lately, but this jacket has held up during rain storms and wind chills of around 12 F.
I always layer up for extra warmth and today was no exception - under my jacket I'm currently wearing a singlet, long sleeve cotton shirt, blouse, wool cardigan and a hoodie. I can fit the jacket over these layers without a problem.
My jacket is a medium, which is the size I usually wear. I'm 5'7" and 155 lbs and didn't have any problem with it being too snug.
January 3, 2012
snug
This coat is designed as a slim fit, especially the arms and arm holes. It fits as a large when I wear a single layer underneath. It is snug if you wear anything more than that. For a down coat, it looks trim, the waist and bust areas do look nice, but you pay for that in the fit. Definitely no bulky hoodies or sweaters underneath. There is a tight fitting inner cuff around the wrist that is stretchy but tight for about 5" up your arm. The bottom half fits nicely and I have a curvy figure. It's very warm. The outside side pockets zip closed which is a nice feature.

A Hug for my body!
I just recieved my Down Home Diva Jacket yesterday and I am excited because it's the first winter jacket I have ever purchased that fits all dreamy and comfortable and looks great on my very petite frame, it's like a hug for my body! I wore it today on a rainy 30 degree New England day and it kept me warm, dry and happy.

The Mrs loved it.
She said that she loved it and it's much warmer than the one I purchased from Burlington Coat Factory. Thank you Columbia for a well made product.

Perfect Fit!
I was shocked when I received this jacket in the mail. It was so light, but you can't tell when you put it on. It is so warm and completely blocks out the wind. It zips up far enough to cover up at least half of your face in windy weather and cuffs that allow for a snug, warm fit. I was worried my figure would get washed away in the shape of the jacket, but I do not even have to use the pull strings to adjust it on the inside. It already couldn't fit any better! My only dislike is the occasional feather that pops out of it. I recommend this jacket!

Flattering for chilly days
I've been wearing this coat during some cold days in Portland, OR. I absolutely love it. I love that the hood (as well as the faux fur) is detachable if desired, I love the non-bulky feel of the coat and love the shape. I especially appreciate the tighter fitting wrist cuff (it's pretty snug if you have thicker wrists), which prevents any wind from sneaking up the arm. Although I'm short (5'2"), the length isn't too long on me (size S). This has been a fabulous purchase.

Down Home Diva Long Jacket
Overall I like this coat. However, the arms could be a little roomier. I am 5'9", 135 lbs., in other words; slender. Luckily I read other reviwes that reported the coats are sized small. I purchased an extra-large. The sleeves do not accommodate a heavy blazer very well, so I gave this a "good" rating instead of "excellent".

Warm, stylish and not bulky
I am loving this jacket. It's got some technology, so it's not too puffy, but it's warm and cozy. I am really into the hood, it fits well and can be adjusted to be worn a few different ways. The sleeves have interior sleeves that are snug to the skin, so it's not drafty.

Women's Down Home Diva Jacket
I really like the jacket. The fits looks good. It does not look puffy at all.
November 28, 2011
Warm and lightweight
Runs a little small, especially through the shoulders. I usually wear a large but had to get XL. I like this jacket a lot. It is warm while being lightweight. It does not feel bulky and doesn't look puffy. I like the waistband drawstring inside. Slimming design. And I like the zipper that opens at the bottom for when you're sitting down. Very comfortable and good looking. Wish it was available in more colors.

Love my new jacket
I ordered the black jacket, which isn't very dark. Perhaps, I was accidentally sent the gray. Either way, I love the color. I'm happy with how the jacket fits my body. I'm pretty thin (115) with a bigger chest and it still gives me shape. It hasn't been too cold in Michigan yet, but I've stayed warm when it was 45 degrees with strong winds and only wearing a thin shirt underneath. Overall, it's a great jacket if you don't want to spend $300.
