Fitted Jacket Based on the sizing chart and previous Columbia jackets, the size should have fit, although it was super tight when I zipped it. I will have to return for a different size. December 12, 2012

A little disappointed I ordered a size up since a lot of the reviews said it ran kind of small, but the small ended up being big on me. I kept it since I'd have to pay extra shipping just to return/ exchange it. I'm also a little disappointed since I thought it would keep me warmer with the wind blocking technology, but it still feels like the wind get's in. I've been wearing it with a thermal hoodie underneath and a medium weight coat over it, but it still doesn't feel warm enough on the chillier days in NY.I love the thumb hole sleeves though, that part of it does keep a good portion of my hand warm. perfect perfect PERFECT I bought this jacket because i wanted a jacket I could wear casually on a day-to-day basis but still also wear it if I was going out on a weekend all dressed up too... and this totally fits that. Its water resistant and does VERY well to keep me dry, its very warm, and super classy as well. The hood is also pretty big so it keeps my hair dry if it's raining..It is also one of the ONLY columbia jackets that i have not had any problem fitting me snugly! I'm 5'2" and 105 lbs, I got an XS and it fits me so so beautifully.Everyone needs this jacket!!! November 23, 2012
Very Pleased After reading many reviews. which i found very helpful. I got a Medium. And I'm 116pds. , Acup. It is snug and fitted. But I love it. It feels just right when I wear it. One point I didnt see in the reviews was it is very womens style fitted in the arm/armpit area. But didnt cause any problems bending or moving arms. All around very pleased !!! November 20, 2012
Tight in Shoulder, Sleeves The cut of ths jacket was too tight in the sleeves and shoulders. I'm a pretty average woman, normal weight range. And with a rather small bust too.This jacket was a bit too snug in the sleeves and chest area. It would be fine if I only ever wore a light t-shirt underneath. But the jacket does not have insulation, so this would only work in early fall (not winter like I was looking for)Otherwise, great soft shell, nice materials and the plum color was unique and beautiful. A softshell with a hood! Living in Oregon, there isn't much point to having any kind of jacket without a hood. But I have had a hard time finding a softshell with one. This is perfect! I am glad I read the other reviews because I do think this runs a bit small. I am normally a small, but bought a medium because this is a bit narrow, especially at the bottom. The medium fits great and there is room for layering. This jacket provides great warmth but isn't the least bit bulky. And I love the thumb loops at the wrists...my favorite part! October 15, 2012
Cut the Fall Chill I was looking for something to overlap my fleece to cut the fall chill here in MT.I found it.Thanks to the review available I was able to recognize that maybe I needed to get a larger size than I would normally order.I'm glad I did.I am usually a medium but the large fits perfectly with just enough room for underlayers.I would agree that the size runs a little smaller but it is comfortable and keeps the heat in on cool and windy fall days. Nice jacket but pricey I ordered this jacket and it was really a nice, warm, contoured jacket that will help to keep the elements out in WA at least. The sleeves are long and the jacket is snug but gives a nice feminine look unlike heavy jackets that fall like boxes over your body.I had to return it as I am looking for a larger size and also this would not fit my running schedule but it is a good jacketPricey though at this price unfortunately.Columbia was great with shipping and returns. feels good as the other reviews have said, this jacket has long arms and a roomy bust, which was exactly what i was looking for. it has a thin fleece lining, is very comfortable and looks good. keeps me warm in the wind- havent used it in light rain yet. very happy with this jacket. March 5, 2012
Runs Small! I am 5'8 and weigh 145 pounds (very athletic, so mostly muscle) and I usually always wear a size small. So I ordered a small the first time, and it was too tight and would barely zip up & I couldn't move around. So I had to send it back and get a Medium. I am an A cupp (Bust) so I know it wasn't too tight because of my bust! Order up a size! You won't be sorry. January 25, 2012
Fits just right I love this jacket. It's extremely warm in winter weather and the rain drops just slide right off of it. I'm a size 6-8 and I ordered a medium and it fit me perfectly. Hightly recommend. December 12, 2011
soft on the inside! I was nervous about buying this jacket online after reading reviews that the sleeves were on the long side. I found the sleeves to fit fine- yes, they are long for my petite arms- but the thumb hole makes up for this. The extra length stays up by my elbows instead of swallowing my hands. The soft lining on the inside, plus an internal security pocket make this jacket super sweet! I ordered this in black and am happy with the color; it isn't too shiny. Can't wait to wear this! Great Quality but poor fit I read the reviews here and bought this jacket last week but was very disappointed with the fit. I loved the material and the look of the jacket but as I soon as put it on, I knew I had to return it. Snug at the chest and hips, (I am 5ft 5in and 145lbs and I bought a Medium even though the size chart suggested I should go for a Small) with no room for layering (I was wearing a thin T-shirt underneath). The sleeves were at least 2 inches too long, add a couple of inches for the part with the thumb hole. With the thumb inserted in to the thumb hole, the fabric was all bundled up at my elbow. I guess this would be perfect for someone with longer torso and arms.Looks and feels great though. Sad I had to return it. November 15, 2011
Love the jacket! It seems that everywhere you look on a college campus, everyone has either a fleece or a softshell jacket for that time between September and December when everyone's avoiding breaking out their winter coats. I decided it was time for me to spend the money on a nice jacket, so I shopped around and eventually decided on the Columbia Supah Buttah (over the ever-popular North Face) because of the awesome hood.I am not disappointed with my purchase! The jacket fit a little snug for the first couple times I wore it, but I've broken it in a little bit and I love wearing it. I'm a tall person, so I was pleasantly surprised when the sleeves were actually longer than normal! However, the jacket body itself is slightly shorter than my ideal (maybe I just have an abnormally large torso?). I've used the hood one a rainy day - the jacket is waterproof and I was totally comfortable. November 6, 2011
a really great jacket... This was exactly what I was looking for...a lightweight, lined, waterproof jacket. It's been perfect for 40-65 degree weather so far and I think it will be great during the winter too. (In Oregon...maybe not when I go home to Iowa!) I chose "a bit large" for the fit because the sleeves are so long. I love long sleeves - especially when there are thumbholes - and I don't have a problem with these, but they are REALLY long! How to measure
- Chest/Bust: Measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades, keeping the tape measure firm and level.
- Waist: Measure around natural waistline, allowing tape measure to sit comfortably.
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips.
- Sleeves: Start at the center back of your neck and measure across the shoulder to the elbow and down to the the wrist. Round up to the next even number.
- Inseam: Measure from the top of the interior leg to the bottom of the ankle.
