Women’s Windefend™ Half Zip 4.7 5 9 9
Works for her I bought this for my wife who--one recent cool day when we were hiking with backpacks said--"Someone should make a shirt that will breath in the back but will cut wind in the front." (She did not know that this shirt exists, so she wasn't hinting.)It fits her well and she seems to like it. Unfortunately, mine did not work out so well. See my review. April 18, 2012
Great fabric, wide neck Love this half zip, only problem is how large the neck is. I have both a small and medium and the neck is too big on both. When using this for cycling you catch a lot of air, it feels like you don't have it fully zipped even though it is. And if you do unzip it it flops around quite a bit because of the large neck opening. April 9, 2012
AWESOME I purchased 2 of these shirts, one black and one Compass Blue. I have been using them for Nordic Skiing and Snow shoeing. The sleeves are incredibly long (love that)! The windefend feature is wonderful and keeps me more than warm enough when the wind kicks up. I am looking forward to using them for some early Spring bicycling! February 20, 2012
Love This This is great. It works well enough that I am not shivering that first portion of my run when my body is warming up. It remains functional after the first couple of miles when your body has adapted. The zipper helps to regulate if necessary. I don't feel the zipper because it is backed with the same material of the shirt, no rubbing! February 13, 2012
Love this top - very flattering! I got it in black and now all my friends want it as well. It is very flattering (in black) and warm (as advertised). Length is nice too...not too short. February 10, 2012
Windefend Half Zip is AWESOME This is THE perfect cycling top. The front panel defends against the wind, just as the name suggests, but is also very breathable and doesn't make you sweat excessively or lock the perspiration in. The zipper allows me to let in more air if I want. It also fits quite comfortably over other wicking heat gear, making it functional in colder weather. It also has back pockets, handy for snacks and cell phones! February 4, 2012
Outstanding! I am so glad that I purchased the Women's Windefend Half Zip. I normally do not bother with half-zips as the neck sections are normally too long and then rub under my chin but this one is perfectly sized. I wear this top over a Columbia Omni-heat base layer thermal top and then a Columbia Women's Thermarator Fleece Jacket that I never zip up. I have had this trio on in 9 degree F temperatures with gale force winds and I'm good. Mind you, I am a person who does not like to get too cold and yet I'm out there on anywhere from two to four mile morning hikes in that kind of weather and it doesn't even faze me. The Omni-Heat line along with the Windefend cannot be beat and it does it all without the bulky movement restriction of other cold weather wear. I highly recommend this article of clothing as it really keeps the wind from cutting through. As far as I'm concerned, Columbia is the master in cold and windy wear clothing. It is simply the best in materials and construction and the prices cannot be beat! Believe me, I've done the comparisons. In addition, Columbia's line is very easy care, just toss in the washer and low dry and they're good to go. Simply outstanding! January 17, 2012
Great features. Lightvweight warm use for cycling and running. Love the deep back pockets. I'm athletic built ordered an xl a bit body hugging but not uncomfortable. Would have preferred an xxl January 12, 2012
Love it! Just what I need! I absolutely love this pullover. It has all of the qualities I look for in cold weather running all in one. If I had to change one thing about it, it's that the chest area is obviously designed for a more full figured gal. Perhaps I ordered a size too big for myself, but for what it is, I didn't want it to be too form fitting... so there is some obvious extra room at the top. I don't believe that will be a problem, and I love it over all! November 28, 2011
